This lighthouse is a landmark, rising up between the Mediterranean and the orange groves of La Plana. It was designed in 1992 by the architect Blanca Lleó, making it one of the only two lighthouses in Spain, together with the Irta lighthouse, to have been entirely designed by women. It was built using ashlar stone on its façade, stainless steels in its walkways and stairs, and copper in its finishing touches.
