PortCastelló to partner Introducing Castellón Business Product Club to build on the port’s cruise tourism appeal

8 February 2024

2024-02-08. PortCastelló is to enhance its appeal to cruise tourism through its partnership with the Introducing Castellón Business Product Club to encourage cruise industry companies to choose Castellon as a home port and a call of interest on their routes.

The Chairman of the Port Authority, Rubén Ibáñez, who today held a working meeting with Javier Gallego, head of the Product Club, argued that “we have an outstanding strategic product which the world shouldn’t miss out on.” Hence “we aim to continue working and driving actions and partnerships to put Castellon on the cruise map and further establish our port as a call of excellence for cruise lines.”

Ibáñez noted that “for some time now we have been pursuing a common strategy to draw more cruise calls to the Port of Castellon while also furnishing cruise lines with a wide range of destinations and experiences.”

Likewise, the head of the port authority underlined the significance of making tourism “less seasonal” and pointed out that “10 cruise calls have already been booked” for the next few years “which will enable around 7,000 cruise passengers to explore Castellon and its province.”

PortCastelló is a member of two of the leading international cruise associations, MedCruise and CLIA (Cruise Line International Association).
