AccesibilidadThe Port Authority of Castellon is investing €194,229 in upgrading accessibility in the recreational, administrative and fishing areas of the port, on the stretch between the Poniente Breakwater fishing facility and the roundabout leading to the North Dock in Ferrandis Salvador Avenue.

This investment comes on top of the €170,000 spent a year ago to make public spaces in the recreational-administrative area and the fishing area more accessible.

The Chairman of PortCastelló, Rubén Ibáñez, said that “our roadmap includes making the recreational area more vibrant and cementing the port’s position as a leading venue by enhancing its links with the city.” Our aim is “to make PortCastelló more accessible and upgrade its surroundings so that everyone in Castellon can enjoy the port and its attractions.”

The construction work, which began at the end of last year, includes building accessible pedestrian routes which are sufficiently wide and obstacle-free with moderate slopes while also adapting vehicle entrances and fitting tactile paving.

Small ramps will additionally be fitted to make it easier to get to the children’s play area on the Costa Quay. Parking spaces for people with reduced mobility will also be added in compliance with regulations, creating accessible routes and transfer areas.
