2024-03-20. The Port Authority of Castellon today hosted the first technical meeting to organise and coordinate safety and security arrangements for the 7th Escala a Castelló to be held from 5-8 April at the Costa Quay.

Participants included officials from national law enforcement agencies, the local and regional police services, the Port Police, the Spanish Maritime Safety and Rescue Society, the Fire Brigade, Civil Defence, the Red Cross, the Harbourmaster’s Office and the Royal Yacht Club.

The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Mayor of Grao, Ester Giner, and the Councillor for Tourism, Arantxa Miralles.

Escala a Castelló, an initiative organised by the City Council and partnered by PortCastelló, is one of the most preeminent events of its kind in the Mediterranean.

Visitors will be able to get a good look at the Nao Victoria, the first ship to circumnavigate the globe which departed from and returned to the Port of Seville, explore the Pascual Flores, an early 20th century exponent of Torrevieja seafaring and trade between the north, the Mediterranean and the west coast of Africa, and also see other vessels including the Santa María Manuela, Mogersten, La Grace and Galeón Andalucía.
