These results go to confirm the Foundation’s commitment to the economic, social and cultural development of Castellon province.

In the same period in 2022, the Foundation had 10 patrons and 10 partners. Today, these numbers are up by 75% with 35 companies now engaged, 14 as patrons and the rest as partners. This backing demonstrates the confidence and growing interest in PortCastelló Foundation initiatives.

Key initiatives included:

Cruise marketing: contacts were made with various shipping companies which, in conjunction with attendance at fairs and specialised conferences, led to contracting eight cruise stopovers for 2024 and 2025.

Production sector expansion and marketing: the Foundation attended a number of fairs including Cevisama, Cersaie, Breakbulk, Transport Logistic, Wind Europe and Fruit Logistic, along with conferences and congresses in the petrochemical, ceramic tile, transport and renewable energy industries.

Training: a number of sessions were run on topics of interest to the port community such as challenges in maritime transport, the economy and sustainability, digital transformation and operational security and port protection.

Sustainability: initiatives included healthy talks and workshops, environmental recovery actions and celebrating Fruit Day.

The Foundation’s commitment to these actions will continue in 2024 as approved at the last Board Meeting. A budget of €405,500 was earmarked for this year, further cementing programmes which strengthen the region’s socioeconomic community.

The Chairman of the Port Authority of Castellon, Rubén Ibáñez Bordonau, praised the Foundation’s work, singling out its pivotal role in bringing the port community together. He pointed to the Foundation’s significance as a key instrument for growing the province’s production sectors.

The PortCastelló Foundation appreciates the continued support of its patrons, partners and community and is passionate about its role as a key driver for sustainable progress in the province.
