27 March 2024

15 March 2024.- The fifth edition of the Grau de Circ Festival will once again turn the Panderola and Sète squares in the maritime district into two circus rings. On 29, 30 and 31 March, 10 national and international companies will present their new contemporary circus shows, with clown trapeze artists, jugglers and aerial structures. The Grau de Circ 2024 programme is coordinated by the Castellón-based troupes Malabó and Xa! Theatre, with free admission to all performances. The festival will commence with the Seón company and their show “Infinit”, on Friday 29 at 17:00. Vaiven, Eddy Eightym Sargantana, Ramiro Vergaz, Expres, Capicúa, La banda de otro, Bot Project and Truca Circus are also part of the exceptional line-up.

The presentation of the event was attended by the Councillor for Culture, María España, the Deputy Mayor of Grao, Ester Giner, and the President of the Port Authority, Rubén Ibáñez, as well as representatives of the companies. María España emphasised that “this is the Culture Department’s big bet for Easter when we receive many visitors, and we want to offer them a range of cultural and tourism events together. There is no better place than the Grao to do it, with two squares that offer us a lot of scenic possibilities. We are very excited about this year’s programme, with award-winning shows all over Spain. Culture, circus, sun and beach in Grao. You can’t ask for more”.

For her part, the deputy mayor of Grao, Ester Giner, recalled “the enormous success of this festival in Grao since its first edition. Hundreds of families fill all the venues and come back year after year. This is the cultural model we want, based on open spaces and shows suitable for all audiences”. The president of the Port Authority, Rubén Ibáñez, stressed that “culture is the key to everything and the best way to open up the port to the public. We are working very hard to turn the Port of Castellón into a place of reference for top level cultural activities and the results are already proving us right”.
