Rubén Ibáñez highlights the Valencian Government’s firm commitment to promoting a technology hub in PortCastelló

31 October 2023

The Chairman of the Port Authority of Castellon, Rubén Ibáñez, has highlighted the commitment of Carlos Mazón’s government to promoting a technology hub in PortCastelló. This is reflected in the 2024 budget that the Regional Government presented yesterday, which has earmarked an investment of €100,000 for this initiative.

Rubén Ibáñez stated that Mazón’s government and the Regional Ministry of Innovation, Industry, Trade and Tourism “are making good on their promise to include funding in the budget to set up a technology hub in the Castellon port area and thus respond to technological development needs”. It should be remembered that the Regional Innovation Minister announced the creation of this type of hub in the Valencian Region’s three largest ports to generate wealth in the cities.

The Port Authority of Castellon, together with the Regional Government, are currently exploring different port areas that could be used to set up this project, which aims to attract innovative technological and digital businesses.

Rubén Ibáñez has stated that the deployment of this hub “is a way of diversifying business in the port area, as well as revitalising the seafront and boosting port-city integration”.
