PortCastelló showcases its logistics potential at Breakbulk Europe

8 June 2023

The Port of Castellon is taking part in Breakbulk Europe 2023, the trade fair specialising in “project cargo” which serves as a meeting point for logistics operators, forwarding companies and manufacturers from all over the world.

Over 4,000 companies and 9,000 trade professionals are taking part in this event, held from 6 to 8 June in the city of Rotterdam. PortCastelló is participating under the umbrella of the State-owned Ports Body at the “Ports of Spain” stand to showcase its logistics potential and its growth, which have placed it among the top ten Spanish ports and fourth in terms of solid bulk traffic.

PortCastelló will be showcasing its potential in handling special cargo and machinery at the fair. This potential has recently been illustrated with the Danish multinational LM Windpower choosing the Port of Castellon to export wind turbine blades from its factory in Les Coves de Vinromá to the North Sea. These are the largest blades manufactured in Europe and their transport and loading require highly specialist operations and know-how. The Port of Castellon is also an import point for this type of cargo.

The Port of Castellon has organised an extensive meeting schedule to establish business contacts and publicise its road and rail connectivity infrastructures as well as the Octopus project that is being developed in the South Dock which will enable the Port of Castellon to grow sustainably.

The Port of Castellon is an essential logistics hub in the Mediterranean and the project cargo industry generates significant business opportunities.
