Manuel José García takes up post as PortCastello’s director

Manuel José García has today taken up his post as the new Director of the Port Authority of Castellon following last Friday’s approval of his appointment by its Board of Directors. He joins the PortCastelló team at a key moment for the organisation to lead sales and marketing, grow maritime traffic and enhance the concessions area to make the port more competitive.

Manuel José García has 25 years of experience in port management in private and state-owned enterprises. He has specialised in sales management, business development, concession contract management, strategic planning and market research. He holds a degree in Economics and Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Port Management and Intermodal Transport.

He comes from the Port Authority of Valencia where he has been Head of Business Intelligence, Deputy Director of the General Manager’s Office and Head of Public Port Land. He was also a director of the logistics development division at Valencia Plataforma Logística e Intermodal, an executive in logistics group EXEL PLC, coordinator of maritime operations at Marítima Valenciana, the public container terminal in the Port of Valencia, and branch manager at Contegal, a group specialising in refrigerated goods transport.
