The Board of Trustees of the PortCastelló Foundation has today approved the entity’s new roadmap, which marks commercial, social and training support for the Port Authority of Castellón as strategic lines. During the meeting, Susana Soria was appointed manager, after the retirement of Miguel Rojo, who had held the position since October 2015.

In this way, the PortCastelló Foundation begins a new journey that will allow, on the one hand, to strengthen the work of the Expansion department focused on the expansion of lines and traffic, the commercialization of the land available in the south dock and the enhancement of international know-how. how from the port In addition, it will continue with its work of attending events, congresses and fairs and will join the commercial committee of the Port Authority to join efforts. The Foundation will continue its work to promote cruises with the aim of attracting this type of tourism to the province

On the other hand, the Foundation will have a marked social character through the development of actions aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals and solidarity actions within the firm commitment of PortCastelló to integrate Social Responsibility with the development of the commercial activity of the port . It will also promote environmental projects of interest to the Port Community and will give a definitive boost to the Al Port project, which aims to foster rapprochement and dialogue with society through an attractive, dynamic and leisure program on its seafront.

Finally, the Foundation will focus its work on sealing alliances with organizations and entities related to the field of training in the maritime-fishing sector, with the aim of offering its own training in the future. To this end, the Foundation has announced the start of a study to identify the training needs of companies in the Port Community. It must be remembered that the port of Castellón has already signed various agreements to strengthen this type of training demanded by surrounding companies. Among them, the one reached with the Chamber of Commerce of Castellón stands out to offer sailor-fisherman courses, as well as with the Ministry of Education to make the construction of an Integrated Center for Professional Training a reality to promote the training of the professional maritime-fishing family. . In addition, an agreement has been signed with the University of Castellón to promote the SmartPorts chair.

The president of the Port Authority of Castellón, Rafa Simó, has indicated that “we are beginning a new stage in the PortCastelló Foundation, adapting our objectives to the current needs of our port community, and focusing on training, social and commercial actions”.
