Private investsments in the PortCastelló ceramics quay begin to materialize

The Noatum and Terminal Marítima del Grau terminals are beginning to materialize the announced investments of 36 million euros in the Cerámica wharf in the port of Castellón with the signing of the corresponding reconsideration acts, where they operate under a concession regime. The investments will serve to introduce improvements in environmental protection, infrastructure and high-performance mechanical and discharge means to gain efficiency and sustainability.

This was reported today to the Board of Directors by the president of the Port Authority of Castellón, Rafa Simó. It has also reported on the state of other productive infrastructures of PortCastelló, such as the reception of the works of the new public dock for liquid bulk, an action that has had an investment of 4 million euros and that will allow improving the capacity of the berthing line of liquids from the port and respond to the increase in this type of traffic.

Rafa Simó has referred to the tender by the Administrator of Railway Infrastructures (ADIF) for the works of the southern railway access for 123 million. A tender that is currently held up by the appeal of the CNC (National Confederation of Construction) before the TACRC (Central Administrative Court of Contractual Resources)

The session also reported on new improvement actions in the public area of the port of Castellón, such as the renovation of the Moruno building, the execution of two new accesses to the Port Authority of Castellón via Ferrandis Salvador avenue and the rehabilitation from the fountain located next to the lighthouse on the Costa quay. In addition, the purchase of the Navy Command building located on Paseo Buenavista del Grau for an amount of 600,000 euros has been reported.

On the other hand, the regional director of the Presidency of the Generalitat, Eva Redondo, has joined the council today as a member representing the Generalitat and replacing María Ángeles Fernández.

The Board of Directors in its session today has also taken the following agreements:

  • Approve the concession to the Spanish Red Cross for the occupation of storerooms number 6, 7 and 8 located on the berthing dock for official vessels in the port service area.
  • Approve the concession for the occupation and commercial exploitation of a bar lounge terrace in Plaza del Mar.
  • Approve the substantial modification by expanding an area of 192 square meters of the administrative concession granted to the Diocesan Secretariat of the Sea Apostolate for the occupation of offices and parking located on Ferrandis Salvador Avenue.
  • Approve the substantial modification due to the modification of the object of the administrative concession granted to APM Terminals Castellón for the operation of terminal B for the handling of general merchandise.
  • Authorize the renewal of the assignment of the total use of the administrative concession for the occupation of a plot for the storage and transport of petroleum coke in the south dock of the port granted to BP Energía España in favor of the UTE Portsur Castellón and Gimeno Servicios Portuarios
