The Port Authority of Castellón will pay tribute to the victims of the Nazmiye Ana ship tragedy and will publicly recognize the work of all the groups that were involved during the tragedy, which is now one year old. The ship capsized at the Centenario dock in the port of Castellón, killing two people and injuring two others.
It will take place in the Plaza del Mar del Grau de Castelló next Saturday, May 28 at 10:30 a.m. in a simple act in which tribute will be paid to the work carried out by more than 150 professionals from institutions, organizations, administrations, companies and NGOs that participated in the rescue efforts during the 42 days in which the uncertainty and the rescue efforts continued.
In the symbolic act, a plaque will be unveiled in tribute to the 36-year-old stevedore from Castellón, David Camañes, and the 22-year-old sailor of Indian nationality, Bhanu Patrat, both of whom die in the accident. In addition, the stevedore who was seriously injured will be remembered.
