The Port Authority of Castellón has awarded the road next to the south dock for 900,913 euros with the aim of providing the enclave with the necessary services for future concessionaires and as part of its strategy to enhance the value of the south dock and its consolidation as a logistics and industrial activities.
The new road will optimize traffic in this enclave, by continuing the flyover over the Iberdrola canal and the road that connects the access roundabout to the dock with the liquid bulk road, which was executed for a value of 1,622,000 euros.
The projected works have an execution period of four months and have begun with the clearing and clearing of the area of action. At the moment the drainage network is being executed through the corresponding collectors, scuppers and manholes. The road will also be equipped with a drinking and industrial water supply network, electrical networks and lighting with LED type luminaires.
The works are part of the set of investments by the Port Authority of Castellón for the expansion of the south dock, such as the construction of a fire-fighting network, the new berth for liquid bulk and the installation of a wheel washer, among others. These infrastructures will make it possible to increase the competitiveness of the port of Castellón and its customers.
The president of the Port Authority of Castellón, Rafa Simó, has pointed out the importance of the south dock within PortCastelló’s strategy of having new spaces for the establishment of new industries that collaborate in the generation of employment and wealth in Castellón and its surroundings.
