  • Rafa Simó: This plan will allow us to prioritize our business models and convert technological resources into value-added elements

The Port Authority of Castellón awards the joint venture Seidor Consulting S.L.–Teirlog Ingenieria S.L. the definition and execution of its Digital Transformation Master Plan and the implementation of the Digital Transformation Office for 607,500 euros and an execution period of three years. The winning company will also be in charge of supervising the correct implementation of the technological projects derived from the plan. The president of the Port Authority of Castellón, Rafa Simó, has pointed out that the digital transformation “is a high priority strategy for us and the development of this plan will allow us to draw the lines to modernize the management of PortCastelló, prioritize our business models and adapt to the transformation processes that the port sector is undergoing”.The plan includes the development of various actions, some of which are already being worked on, such as the implementation of a virtual work space for a more efficient and flexible work experience, with centralized and secure access to information and applications. . All this entails a reduction in cyber risks, greater mobility, flexibility and work-life balance. In addition, in itself, it is a contingency plan for catastrophes or pandemics, such as the coronavirus, since it allows the continuity of business activity without impact.Another line of action is the implementation of a digital document office that allows full digital processing of all the organization’s procedures and that regulates the production and management of digital documents under conditions that ensure their integrity, reliability, authenticity, interoperability and availability throughout its useful life. The objective is to offer a more efficient and agile service, in addition to guaranteeing traceability and security in the processing of the procedures of the Port Authority of Castellón.

The deployment of business intelligence (BI – Business Intelligence) is another of the pillars of the plan and its objective is to improve decision-making through the analysis of data, applications and technologies. Rafa Simó has assured that “it goes much further than obtaining data that is analyzed to obtain information, but rather it is committed to quality knowledge that leads the organization towards the strategic objectives it pursues”.Lastly, the Port Authority of Castellón has implemented an ITSM (IT Service Management) for the management of the information technology and communications services it provides. This system allows efficient coordination of ICT resources and projects and optimal management of the technological change that is taking place in the Port Authority of Castellón. In this way, “PortCastelló aims not only to ensure the quality of the information and the reduction of the risks associated with the digital and cybernetic environment, but also to convert technological resources into elements of high added value and act as facilitators of the logistics and industrial cluster”
