The Al Port cultural cycle, which is taking place in PortCastelló, has inaugurated one of the two pictorial works scheduled for this quarter. The well-known artist from Castellón, María Griñó, has been working on a large 21-meter-long mural where she has captured a seabed with fish with the characteristic personality in María’s works.
María Griñó has highlighted that “when they proposed to me to make a mural in the surroundings of the port, it was clear to me that I had to do a work related to the sea, without losing the spirit of social criticism that I always reflect in my works”. The artist has highlighted that “that is why instead of all the fish being there, as happens in a flock, each one is in one direction, which is the reflection of our society, each one to our ow rythm”. “We don’t do work together, we don’t all row in the same direction to get things forward.”
This week the second of the planned murals has begun, by Sara Bellés, which will end next Saturday 22, coinciding with the open day of the port of Castellón. A day that will also feature a talk and book signing by the journalist and writer Vicente Vallés, in the Varadero room at 11 a.m., while a new session of Concerts Al Port will be held in the Sète square, an event sponsored by Vibra Mahou, Beefeater and RoyalBliss. It will start at 11.30 in the morning with four performances by Back To The Hills, from Castellón, presenting their album Oceans, in addition to Paula Reyes from Madrid who, together with Adriana Ubani from the Canary Islands, form the group Pipiolas, a charismatic group with a overwhelming artistic spirit, complementing the day with DJs Xori Gass and Charlee DJ.
