08-10-2021.The mayor of Castelló, Amparo Marco, accompanied by the regional secretary for Tourism, Francesc Colomer, and the president of the Castellón Port Authority, Rafa Simó, inaugurated this morning the IV edition of Escala a Castelló. This event is held from today Friday until Tuesday, October 12 at the Costa de PortCastelló dock.
A seafaring event that includes various activities, such as recreations of important episodes in the history of Spain, mascletás, a marine market with cannons and camps and visits to the four historic ships that have already docked in the port of Castellón. Visits must be booked through the escalaacastello.com website, where the extensive program of events can also be consulted.
The boats participating in this edition are the Andalusian Galleon, the Nao Victoria, a replica of the ship captained by Magellan and Elcano between 1519 and 1522, commemorating the 500 years of that feat; the pailebote Pascual Flores, which was dedicated to transporting salt in the Levante area, and the Cervantes Saavedra, in which the popular series “El Barco” was filmed.
