PortCastelló presents the IV edition of Escala a Castelló at Fitur

The Castelló Town Hall, the Valencian Community Tourism and the Castellón Port Authority have presented at the International Tourism Fair (Fitur) the IV edition of “Escala a Castelló” that will be held from October 8 to 12 in the port of Castellón. This edition will be adapted to the current health situation and incorporates the vision of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

It is a differentiating and pioneering event that brings together historic ships in the port of Castellón along with other alternative activities, such as conferences and exhibitions.

The mayor of Castelló, Amparo Marco, stated in the presentation that “we continue to anchor this maritime event to Castelló, which has already become a brand of its own to promote the city as a tourist destination.” He added that “it is a festival that continues to consolidate and looking towards the next 2022 when it is expected to celebrate the 500th anniversary of the first round the world.”

“We can proudly say that Castelló has already earned a name and already has great prestige in the calendar of annual appointments of events dedicated to the sea,” he said.

For his part, the president of the Castellón Port Authority, Rafa Simó, stressed that “one of our objectives is to open the port to the city and bring the province closer to the port.” “For this reason we are pleased to host one more year such initiatives as Escala a Castelló, which puts Castelló and its port in the spotlight for tourism and leisure, which allows diversifying the Castellón economy, and making the port of Castellón more known, recognized and appreciated ”. Rafa Simó has indicated that it is an event that “has known how to adapt to the circumstances and has come to stay.”
