PortCastelló collaborates with 11 cultural and sports entities of the Grau

The Castellón Port Authority has assigned for the first time an economic endowment for sponsorships directed to non-profit organizations to promote projects of a cultural and sports nature. “It is a commitment of PortCastelló with the Castellón society and its social and economic fabric”, said the president of the entity, Rafa Simó.

This action is linked to the Strategic Plan for the port of Castellón, which includes the need to implement a Corporate Social Responsibility model and forge strategic alliances with its stakeholders. The initiative has taken into account the Sustainable Development Goals promoted by the United Nations that place the environment and people at the center of its actions.

This year’s call is endowed with 25,000 euros and a total of 11 entities have been presented, of which 4 are of a cultural nature and the rest are sports, all of them carry out their activities in the Grau. The sponsored entities are:

  • BotafocsClub Esportiu
  • Grau CastellóSan Pedro Soccer Club
  • Club Tramuntana
  • Club Volei Grau Castelló
  • Mediterranean Volleyball Club Grao de Castelló
  • Club Voley l´Illa Grau
  • Col·lectius per la Cultura al Grau
  • Royal Nautical Club
  • Unió Musical del Grau

 

The Castellón Port Authority has formed a technical committee to assess the different proposals and projects presented. The deadline for entities to justify each of the projects presented is November 30.The current call promoted by the Castellón Port Authority has been launched under criteria of quality and representativeness of the project. Thus, those initiatives that are directly aimed at a greater number of people have been prioritized.

Rafa Simó has highlighted the commitment of the port of Castellón with citizens. “We set the objective of promoting the coexistence of the port with the Grau, and for this we saw it necessary to sponsor those non-profit organizations that work for society with projects in the sports and cultural field. It is the first time that PortCastelló has launched a campaign of this type but it will not be the last since the Business Plan of the Port Authority of Castellón already provides for the financial endowment for it in 2022. We want to invest to be a port committed to development, a sustainable, open and integrated port in its environment ”.
