The new bridge over the Iberdrola channel of the southern dock of the port of Castellón has come into operation, after the works have been received. The works have involved an investment of 2,142,689 euros and an execution period of 10 months.

The action consisted of the execution of an overpass that saves the Iberdrola channel that serves the combined cycle power plant that the company has in the vicinity of the port area. The project has also included the construction of a road with an approximate length of 890 meters, which connects the access roundabout to the south basin of the port of Castellón with the liquid bulk area. This new road increases the safety of the circulation of heavy vehicles, by avoiding the previously existing sharp turns.

The action has been equipped with a drainage network along the road formed by collectors and their corresponding scuppers, a connected drinking and industrial water network, a fire-fighting network, and a medium voltage prism, all of them connected to the service networks from the south dock.

The president of the Castellón Port Authority, Rafa Simó, has visited the area accompanied by the director Ana Ulloa and the head of the Infrastructure Department, Juan Bautista Mingarro.
