26-05-2021. The director of the port of Castellón, Ana Ulloa, has requested the termination of her position at her own request to undertake a new professional challenge. Ana Ulloa has held this position since October 2018.
The Board of Directors of the Castellón Port Authority will deliberate on this request at the meeting called for next June 23. In this council, the president of the Castellón Port Authority, Rafa Simó, will propose the appointment of José María Gómez Fuster as new director from July 1 to replace Ana Ulloa, who will cease on June 30.
Rafa Simó thanked Ana Ulloa for her involvement “with the port of Castellón and with this territory, for her work and professionalism, especially in the crisis caused by the pandemic, and for her spirit and good work with the entire Port Community that has served to leave a mark in PortCastelló ”.
During his tenure, the new Strategic Plan 2024 has been promoted, the Port Authority of Castellón has been positioned as the first to obtain the AENOR certificate against COVID-19 and the EFR certification of a Family Responsible Company. In addition, the procedures for the internal railway works have been completed, as well as the obtaining of European funds for them and the Code of Good Environmental Practices for the port community has been approved.
José María Gómez is a Civil Engineer, Channels and Ports, with a master’s degree in Port Management, as well as in Business and Administration, and has extensive professional experience in managing works in the port sector in the public and private spheres.
He is currently Head of Operations for the port of Cartagena, where he has performed different functions in the areas of Planning and Strategy. Of note in his management is the optimization of solid bulk traffic through the port of Cartagena, the drafting of the Master Plan for the new Cartagena dock, which includes a railway access and a railway port terminal, and the implementation of the Master Plan for digitization.
