Stella Maris

The Port Authority of Castellón will collaborate to improve and expand the facilities

The president of the Castellón Port Authority, Rafa Simó, has valued the work carried out by Stella Maris of assistance and attention to the crews that settle in Castellón.

This has been assured after a meeting that he has held with those in charge, in which he has shown them his willingness to collaborate with the NGO to improve and expand the premises where they currently provide their services. It must be remembered that this building was loaned four years ago by the Port Authority.

It is a space of more than one hundred square meters, located in front of the Port garden, at the beginning of Ferrandis Salvador avenue, and which is attended by volunteers who coordinate the service of attention to the sailors who call on the port of Castellón annually. This location was completely remodeled, but both parties have agreed to initiate some expansion improvements in order to improve and enhance the services they offer.

Rafa Simó has highlighted the essential and basic role of the volunteer service of the Apostolate of the Sea by offering the crews information on the services they can access, such as transfers to land so that they can maintain contact with their respective families through the internet, or by facilitating everything type of advice or medical attention.
