The port of Castellón will participate one more edition in the Destaca fair organized by the Ciutat de Vila-real Chair of Ceramic Innovation, of the UJI and the City Council, which will be held between November 11 and 13. This has been confirmed by the president of the Castellón Port Authority, Rafa Simó, to the mayor of Vila-real, José Benlloch, during the institutional visit that has been held between the two institutions to strengthen ties. Both have been accompanied by the director of the port, Ana Ulloa, and the director of the Chair of Ceramic Innovation of Vila-real, Juan Carda.
Rafa Simó has expressed his strong support for this fair, the only one on technology and knowledge transfer in the Valencian Community, “since it is a unique forum for debate and reflection on fundamental pillars on which the new strategic framework of the port of Castellón, such as innovation, digitization and internationalization”.
The president of the Castellón Port Authority has pointed out the importance of creating alliances between administrations, companies and the university to promote the knowledge economy. In this sense, Rafa Simó will participate in the debate sessions to be held in the Municipal Auditorium of Vila-real.
On the other hand, both institutions have agreed to strengthen current relations to consolidate the port of Castellón as the port of the province. “PortCastelló is a tool at the service of its productive sectors and the port of ceramics par excellence, and for this reason it must create alliances with all municipalities in the ceramic sector”. Rafa Simó added that “we want PortCastelló to be recognized as our own in its closest environment”.
José Benlloch has assured that “Vila-real feels the port of Castellón as an excellent ally” and has referred to the Destaca fair as an event “already consolidated that has allowed to diversify the economy of Vila-real and generate an innovative ecosystem”.
Destaca will celebrate its fourth edition from November 11 to 13, in a call adapted to Covid-19 and distributed in several spaces: the Rafael Beltrán Municipal Music Auditorium will host the professional section, focused on three fundamental challenges: digital transformation, the paper of women in science and post-covid recovery. The section Destaca Disclosure, with the participation of schools, will take place in the Casa dels Mundina and the exhibition part, through a virtual platform.
