PortCastelló and Almassora City Council forge alliances in the logistics area

The Almassora City Council and the Castellón Port Authority will promote joint actions regarding the future development of the logistics area that will be developed next to the Castellón port and which contemplates the future General Urban Planning Plan of Castelló.

The mayor of Almassora, Merche Galí, together with the Councilor for Territory, Carmina Martinavarro, have held a working meeting with the president of the Port Authority, Rafa Simó, and the director Ana Ulloa, to strengthen collaboration between both institutions.

“It is about forging alliances and taking advantage of the opportunities that the development of a logistics area around the port will give us and next to the Almassora term”, explained Rafa Simó. He has referred to the importance of involving the Almassora council in the development of this area “because it will be a logistics hub that will attract new companies.”

The president of the Port Authority recalled that one of the pillars of his management is “to make the port of Castellón the port of the entire province, as well as its closest environment.” In this sense, the Almassora City Council values ​​the requalification of land to participate in the new logistics zone next to the port and thus promote the development of infrastructures on its coast.

The offer of the City Council arises to promote the creation of a fast road and better communications on the beach  town that allow to take advantage of the future development of the logistics area by the creation of the intermodal station and the southern railway access.
