PortCastelló highlights the role of businessmen to boost the provincial economy

The president of the Castellón Port Authority, Rafa Simó, has received the president of the Valencian Business Confederation, Salvador Navarro, and the president of this body in Castellón, Sebastián Pla, with the aim of making them participate in the productive infrastructures planned in the port of Castellón and that will allow to boost the economy of the province.

The President of the Port Authority has highlighted the commitment of businessmen, and specifically the port and logistics sector, to place the port of Castellón among the first in the Spanish port system, and has valued its resilience “in very difficult times” . Along these lines, he stressed that PortCastelló will always be together “with those who have the vocation to lead actions to boost the territory’s economy”.

Rafa Simó has assured that the productive investment plan of the port of Castellón contemplates the development of infrastructures that will allow to follow the path of sustainable growth and improve the competitiveness “not only of the port area, but of all the companies that operate in it”.

In addition, he has referred to the great opportunity of the future logistics area that will be located in the surroundings of the port of Castellón, the intermodal station and the railway accesses ”.

The President of the Port Authority has also informed the CEV representatives of the economic support measures for the port concession companies, both those installed within the commercial complex and those located in its leisure areas, to mitigate the effects derived from pandemic, such as bonuses and split payments. “The intention of the Port Authority is to help the sector in this difficult situation and alleviate the negative impact of COVID-19.”
