The mayor of Onda, Carmina Ballester, and the president of the Castellón Port Authority, Rafa Simó, have held a working meeting with the aim of forging alliances between both institutions and creating synergies for the benefit of the more than five hundred companies that are located in the municipality.
The mayor, Carmina Ballester, has visited the southern dock of the port of Castellón, accompanied by the Councilor for Employment and Finance, Salvador Aguilella. There he has been able to know first-hand the services and infrastructures that the port can offer to the companies installed in Onda.
“To continue growing as an industrial destination we need to work hand in hand with the large logistics platforms of the province such as the port. This alliance will allow us to continue working to be useful to our companies and improve the competitiveness and quality of Onda as a logistics park ”, stated Ballester.
The mayor has also stressed that “in the short path we have traveled we have already managed to get large international companies to focus on this small corner of the Mediterranean to invest and develop their businesses. But we are not satisfied and we will continue to make every effort to call in talent, attract investment and add new opportunities ”.
For his part, the president of the Castellón Port Authority, Rafa Simó, has referred to the port of Castellón as the port of the entire province and, in that sense, has insisted on the need to forge alliances with all its surroundings. “We are a tool at the service of companies” he indicated, “and we want to create synergies with companies with an export vocation that are established in Onda”.
The president of PortCastelló has referred to the opportunities that the intermodal station will generate for the entire territory “because it will allow us to gain competitiveness and will mean logistical savings for our productive sectors”.
Rafa Simó, accompanied by the director Ana Ulloa, has presented to the mayor the project “Castelló Port Lab” promoted by the port of Castellón for the generation of a hub for technological innovation, logistics and port services. “Innovation and digitization are not future challenges for the Castellón Port Authority, but fundamental strategies on which we are already working.”
