In 2018 PortCastelló increased its traffic in citric fruits by 5.7%

The port of Castellón is participating in Fruit Logistic in Berlín through the PortCastelló Foundation

 Through the PortCastelló Foundation, the port of Castellón is participating in the International Fruit Logistic Trade Fair of Berlin, the biggest event of this kind in this food and agriculture sector. The port of Castellón attends with excellent figures for last year: during 2018 48.545 tons of citric fruits were moved through the port, 5.7% increase on the previous year when the total was d 45.915 tons.

The total volume of fruit, vegetables and legumes in 2018 was 52.088 tons.

The port of Castellón attends the convention which is being held from the 6th to 8th of February in the ‘Ports of Spain’ stand under the title “Connecting the world to fresh food”, with of objective of strengthening its commercial offer to the international trade in fruit and vegetables at an event which will attract 3,200 exhibitors and 78,000 visitors from all over the world. For this reason PortCastelló has planned a full programme of work to open up new contacts and lines of business.

The president of the Port Authority of Castellón, Francisco Toledo, stated that “Fruit Logistica is an excellent opportunity to make new contacts with the main suppliers in this market and let them know about the advantages of operating from Castellón.

PortCastelló has available a terminal which is specifically the handling of fruit and vegetables prepared with a large refrigerated store which allows it to deal with the most demanding protocols for the transport o fruit and vegetables. The PortCastelló Foundation is supported by patrons, companies, associated companies collaborators and its participation in this fair is one of a series of events that it will be attending in 2019.
