22 May 2018

The extension to a period of eight years of the concession held by Bulk Cargo Logistics SA has been approved after their commitment to make an investment of 4.356.228 euros

After an external analysis carried out by Grupo Castilla, of the Human Resources structure of the Port Authority of Castellón and a proposal by the President, a new organizational structure has been approved which has the aim of establishing an organizational structure that is effective, productive, oriented towards clients needs, which guarantees sustainable growth, aligns the organic configuration and human resources in order to cover the needs of clients, providing services that add value in order to secure the competitive position of the port.

The new organizational structure of the Port Authority sets an organizational horizon to plan development and define other areas that fall within the responsibility of the president’s office; Communications, Institutional relations, strategy planning, marketing and control of internal auditing. The area of management, the responsibility of the office of the Managing Director, will go from covering two areas to three: infrastructure, operations and management. Infrastructure consists of one department (Conservation and Projects) Operations has two departments, (port operations and public domain) and management has four, (Economic/financial, Human Resources , Legal Consulting and Sustainability)

In this way the responsibilities of the presidency and the managing director’s office are separated and in this way are also separated the areas which operate the business side from the areas which provide income (port operations and public domain), that which designs and maintains infrastructure from those which develop the business side and from those which provide human resources and work in the economic, judicial, technological and sustainability areas.

Other changes have been made, such as the transfers of maritime signals which will pass to the conservation department, the port police will join with the management of operations’ safety, the person who will be responsible for information and communications technology will become a part of the management team, and the infrastructures unit will become a part of the operations department in order to take charge of intermodal transport.

The newly created sustainability department, will take care of the areas of social responsibility, the prevention of risk at work, quality, the environment, industrial security and ICT

Once the the new organizational structure has been approved, over the next few weeks four of the seven people whoo are currently department heads will have their responsibilities changed.
