The President of the Port Authority of Castellón, Francisco Toledo, accompanied by the director Roberto Arzo and the manager of the PortCastelló Foundation,Miguel Rojo, have today attended the Tecnargilla Trade Fair , the most important fair in the field of technology for the ceramics industry which is held in the Italian city of Rimini.
The objective is to make new contacts with companies which that are based inside the port and others such as Kaltun, United Minerals or Sibelco.
The president of the Port Authority has shown them the process by which infrastructure at the port is being modernised in order to attain greater efficiency in the handling of solid bulks. The first step will be taken this Friday at a meeting of the Board of Directors during which an adjudication will be made on the tenders made for the occupation of public domain for the construction and operation of a solid bulks terminal in phase 1 and a call for tenders for phase 2.
These concessions will have available technical means to undertake highly efficient unloading operations, will be able to operate 24/7, and apply more efficient methods for environmental protection. Francisco Toledo explained that,”the port is going to be more efficient both in term of costs and rate of unloading as well as the time spent by vessels in the port.”
The companies with which contacts have been maintained have taken advantage of these new developments at PortCastelló because they offer new means to import raw materials while guaranteeing quality handling of these materials.
The representatives of PortCastelló have also visited the main manufacturers of machinery in Castellón and have held a meeting with the president of the Spanish Association Manufactures of Machines and Machine Accessories (Asebec), José Vicente Bono. These meetings have served to underline that this sector is technologically leading the way and that Castellón is an attractive option for the export of this type of product.
