These figures reveal that the port of Castellón is growing 2.5% faster than the average in the Spanish port system, which places it in ninth place overall and fourth in bulk solids. PortCastelló forecasts that the year will close with around 20 million tons after last year when a new record was established at 18 million tons of goods.

The president of the Port Authority of Castellón, Francisco Toledo, as said that “these good results are the fruit of the effort and hard work by business people, workers and port community as a whole. These figures allow us to become increasingly more competitive and to grow in a sustainable manner.” The policy of issuing reductions and lowering tariffs, as well as the investments in productive infrastructure have been key factors in the achievement of these results.
