Portsur extends its concession rights to 14 years with a commitment to invest 8.318.000 euros

The President of the Port Authority of Castellón, Francisco Toledo, emphasised that “the commitment to this investment is a clear sign of the confidence in PortCastelló”

The Board of Directors of the Port Authority of Castellón has agreed to extend the concessionary rights held by Portsur Castellón S..A. for the use of the solid bulks terminal by 14 years, with the commitment to invest 8.318.000 € in a mobile crane, warehouses for the storage of solid bulks, a machinery park and other equipment. Thus extended ,the concession rights will terminate on 7th August 2055.

This extension come under the Real Decreto-Ley 8/2014 which lengthens from 35 to 50 the maximum period of concession rights in ports and which stipulates a transition period during which an extension of current rights can be applied for.

The president of the Port Authority of Castellón, Francicsco Toledo, has stated that the extension of the concession of Portsur “is excellent news because the promised investment is a sign of the confidence that Portsur places in PortCastelló and will make the terminal and the port more competitive.

At the same time, Francicsco Toledo informed the Board of the increase in goods traffic at the Port of Castellón during the first quarter of the year, 10.5% more compared to the same period of last year. In addition the rate of growth at the port of Castellón is above the average of ports in the Spanish ports system which is currently at 2.6%.

During the board meeting, Francisco Toledo gave information about the operating results for 2016, which grew 8.1% due to an increase in income of 2.3% and reduction of 0.18% in expenses.

One matter that was also discussed was the increase in efficiency to solid bulk operations at PortCastelló, “with the objective of making unloading more efficient.”

Other agreements:

-Select the application by Portsur for an administrative concession for the occupation of a warehouse of 4,500 m² in the northern area for the storage of material belonging to the same company.

-Select the application from Terminal Marítima del Grao S.L. for an administrative concession for warehouse number 9, of 207,33 m², in the northern area for the purpose of storage of goods and equipment for use on the terminal.

-Select the application by Sociedad Cooperativa Limitada Columbretes for an administrative concession for the occupation of a warehouse of 560 m², situated in the fishing harbour, for the supply and sale of equipment for fishing vessels.

-Give to Bucemar S.L. and administrative concession for a period of five years for the occupation of warehouse number 1, of 30,35 m², situated in the northern area for the storage of diving equipment belonging to professional divers. The amount to be paid annually is 201,58 €.

-Give to Treintasub S.L. an administrative concession for a period of five years for the occupation of warehouse number 4, of 48,86 m², situated in the northern area for the storage of equipment and machinery necessary professional diving . the amount to paid annually is 324,53 €.

-Give to Remolques del Mediterráneo S.A. an administrative concession for a period of five years of warehouse number 7, of 67,91 m², situated in the northern area for the storage of equipment and spare parts. The amount to be paid annually is 451,06 €.

-Give to Tecniportcas S.L. a five year administrative concession for warehouse number 10, of 82 m², situated in the northern area for the storage of machinery necessary for their operations. The amount to be paid annually is 544,61 €.

-Give to Tecniportcas S.L. a five year administrative concession for the occupation of a surface area and warehouse of 512 m², situated in the northern area for the repair and maintenance of port machinery. The amount to paid annually is 2.120,60 €.

-Give to Proyectos Ponsfer S.L. a five year administrative concession for the occupation of warehouse number 12, of 69,96 m², situated in the northern area for the storage of their own machinery. The amount to be paid annually is 464,68 €.

-The change in the name of the concession holder of the administrative concession held by Daniel Zamora de Francisco, for the occupation and use of properties number 9 type II-A and number 10 type II-A situated in the Plaza del Mar, in favour of José L. Zamora and sons, S.L.

-The contribution by the Port Authority of Castellón of 29.745,96 € for the payment of FEPORTS of which 5.149,06 € is considered not returnable and 24.596,90 € is considered returnable in the short term (maximum 12 months) which will returned according to final amount.

-Authorisation of Masol Iberia Biofuel S.L.U. for the loading and unloading of bulk liquids in the South Basin.

-Authorisation of Rudder Logistics S.L. for a period of three years for the provision of a supply service to merchant vessels in the port of Castellón.

-Authorisation of Dino Theo Atlantis MC S.L. for period of three years for the provision of a service of supplies to merchant vessels in the Port of Castellón.

-Authorisation of Autorizar a Marine Service Mediterranean S.L. for period of three years for the provision of a service of supplies to merchant vessels in the Port of Castellón.
