The Kang Shun docks at PortSur with 53.758 tons
The vessel Kang Shun has docked at PortSur at the port of Castellón coming from the Ukraine carrying 53.758 tons of clay. This is the biggest ever ship carrying clay to dock at the port of Castellón.
The Kang Shun, sailing under the flag of Hong Kong, is 190 metres long and has a dead weight of 30.963 tons, and is consigned by Roca. Unloading the ship will probably take several days so mobile cranes are being used.
So far this year the port of Castellón has moved 1.502.025 tons of clay. The importance of this type of traffic, together with other raw materials used in the ceramics industry, has motivated the Port Authority of Castellón to increase by 90,000 square metres the logistics space available for the handling of these types of materials.
It should be remembered that the PortCastelló has moved in only two years from eighth place to fourth place in the traffic of solid bulks. The main reason for this is the import of raw materials for the Castellón ceramics sector.
