PortCastelló will advertise its offer for cruise ship tourists at the most important trade fair in the sector.
Through the Port Castelló Foundation, PortCastellón is participating in the Seatrade Cruise Global trade fair being held in Fort Lauderdale, the biggest trade fair in the world for this sector, in which 800 companies from 93 countries attract more than 11,000 visitors. This year the Foundation is participating with the aim of reaching within two years an average of ten cruise ship visits to the port of Castellón annually.
The manager of the PortCastelĺó Foundation, Miguel Rojo, and the person in charge of the cruise ship traffic Susana Soria are promoting the offer of the port and holding meetings in order to inform shipping companies about the facilities available at the Port of Castellón where docking is straightforward and the advantages that a stopover at the port has to offer.
These efforts to promote cruise ship traffic at the port of Castellón, are concurrent with the work being carried out by the Cruise Ship Committee, which has been working since the beginning of the year with specialised consultants who are identifying the particular strengths of PortCastelló and to start to increase the number of cruise ships visiting the port.
The President of the PortAuthority of Castellón, Francisco Toledo, has emphasised the importance of consolidating the port as an attractive stopover for cruise shipping companies and to in this way ensure for the province a wider variety of tourism which is both high and low season.
