A Supplies Coordination Committee was today set up at PortCastelló. The President of the Port Authority of Castellón Francisco Toledo explained that,”this is a group made up of eight people and the aim is to receive information about essential supplies required by companies operating in the port so that measures can be taken and in the case of strike action taken by the stevedores, these supplies can be guaranteed and none of these companies will have to interrupt production because of a strike. ”
The committee was relieved that the strike that had been called for the 6th and 8th of March was cancelled. But they point out that there seven other days on which strikes have been called and “although everyone hopes that these strikes will not take place we must be prepared for that eventuality.” The committee representing the stevedores at the port of Castellón have guaranteed that they will work as normal with no slow work during days on which no strike has been called at PortCastelló.
The representative of the ceramics sector on the Board of Directors, the president of ACEP and the president of the Chamber of Commerce of Castellón will ensure that all supplies required by companies in order to maintain production will arrive. The stevedores and the Port Authority being aware of these essential supplies, will take measures together to ensure that they are loaded or unloaded accordingly.
The Committee for the Coordination of Supplies is made up of the following people:
President and vice president of the company committee of the Stevedores Society of the Port of Castellón, Ximo Pesudo y Francisco Jesús Gonell.
