Francisco Toledo declares that for the transport of special cargoes PortCastelló is highly competitive.
The Port of Castellón, through the PortCastelló Foundation, is particiapting in the Breakbulk Europe Trade Fair 2016, the most important European forum on breakbulk and projects, held in Antwerp Belgium until the 26th May. 6,500 professionals from this sector, transit companies, terminal management, maritime transport and logistics supplies are gathered at the fair.
The Port Authority of Castellón is taking part in the event under the commercial umbrella of State Ports in the ‘Ports of Spain’ stand which measures 120 square metres. The president of the the Port Authority, Francisco Toledo, together with the managing director of the port, Roberto Arzo, and the manager of the PortCastelló Foundation, Miguel Rojo, are present at the fair in order to make known the excellent performance of the port in recent years and to explain the increase in conventional and ro-ro traffic.
In particular, during the the first quarter of this year there has been an increase of 80% in this type of specialised traffic and a 178.7% increase in ro-ro traffic, the highest in the Spanish port system.
The PortCastelló Foundation has developed a wide ranging work plan to establish commercial contacts and open new ways towards business and economic activities related to logistics and transport. Francisco Toledo has stated that the the port of castellón is an essential logistics centre in the Mediterranean and that ” we are a highly competitive port for the transport of special cargo.”At the same time he pointed out that “the industries that use breakbulk cargo generate opportunities for business and that is why the Port of Castellón has chosen once again to be present at this fair.”
