The manager of the PortCastelló Foundation is working hard to attract more cruise ship traffic to the port
The Port of Castellón, through the PortCastelló Foundation, participate in the cruise ship trade fair Sea Trade Med Europe which is being held in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
In this way PortCastelló publicise the potential of the port and the highly attractive features of the province among the specialists of the sector who are attending the fair, which is considered the most important meeting point for this sector in Europe and one of the most relevent in the world after Seatrade World, which is held every year in Florida USA.
The manager of the PortCastelló Foundation, Miguel Rojo, has arrived at the fair with a full timetable of meetings with fifteen companies involved in this sector and his main objective is to increase the amount of cruise ship traffic to the Port of Castellón.
The aim that has been established by Francisco Toledo, the President of the Port Authority of Castellón, is that within two years the number of cruise ship visits should be ten per year. “We are present at Seatrade Med Europe in order to demonstrate our potential as a cruise ship destination to the operators and agents specialized in this sector and to publicise the attractive features or our town and our province. The Port of Castellón has to be a partner in the tourist industry.”
This year the fair will be attended by at least 2000 people, there will be 500 exhibitors and sector professionals from 73 countries, along with representitives from port authorities both national and international. PortCastelló will be present together with Spanish State Ports at an institutional stand under the heading “Blue Carpet. Come to Spain on a blue carpet”
