Around one hundred sixth form students from the Instituto Francesc Ribalta de Castellón (secondary school) made an educational visit to the Port of Castellón today accompanied by their teachers. The group attended a presentation concerning the organisation and the activities of the port in the main hall, after which they were taken by bus to see various parts of the port.
This visit has enabled the students to learn something about the type of infrastructure in the port as well as the logistic activity which it generates and the ecomomic impact on society in the province of Castellón, around 106 million euros. In addition the port currently provides 2,178 jobs directly and another 6,048 indirectly.
The Port Authority of Castellón has organised the visit by IES Francesc Ribalta as a part of its policy to encourage closer contacts between the port and the surrounding population and to strengthen the ties between the port and the town.
