The Port of Castellón has shown its support to the Mayors Summit about the Mediterranean rail Corridor, which was also confirmed to attend the Chamber of Commerce and the Confederation of Entrepreneurs. The meeting will be held on 7th of September. It will be closed by the president of the Generalitat, Alberto Fabra, and it has been invited mayors of 12 provincial capitals affected by this infrastructure. The mayor of Castellón, Alfonso Bataller, met this week with the Port Authority chairman, Juan José Monzonís, and director of the Port, Roberto Arzo.
Monzonís has said that from Suez to Gibraltar has the largest port activity in the world and get the execution of the Mediterranean Corridor “would accomplish two corridors, rail and sea, which would provide an intermodal between them and development in that intermodal.” The president of the Port Authority says that the Mediterranean Corridor would be “numerous advantages such as consolidation of logistics zones near the ports that would provide greater wealth, employment and welfare, and environmental benefits.”
