PortCastelló has begun the implementation and delivery of cryptographic cards that will allow, to different agents of the Port Community, exclusive access to Market Information System (SIM), submitted on 26th of November by the Port Authority and framed in action Strategic Plan 2009-2011.
The Port of Castellón offers investors more than 4 million square meters in its logistics platlform, which means that the port area is the more attractive and with more business opportunities in the Western Mediterranean. This will be said to entrepreneurs in the presentation of the infrastructures and services in the Madrid Chamber of Commerce tomorrow Tuesday, November 30, at 13 pm.
“Madrid has another port because the port of Castellón is now port of Madrid”, said the Port Authority of Castellón in the presentation of the new infrastructure and services of PortCastelló, in the Chamber of Commerce in Madrid. An event organized by the Chamber of Commerce of Castellón met more than one hundred businessmen.
The President of Puertos del Estado, Fernando González Laxe, said in his first visit to the Port of Castellón that there is “agreement” with PortCastelló about the south rail access. He explained that “the railroad is the oxygen of a port” and “it is nothing if it is not integrated in a corridor”, betting on the Mediterranean Corridor.
The III Castellón Logistic Day , driven by the Port Authority of Castellón and PortCastelló Foundation, was a success. It was organized by “Periódico del Azulejo” and Itene, it attracted hundreds of logistic operators and business in general on 23th of November at the Opal Room of the Grand Casino de Castellón Puerto Azahar.
The Port of Castellón presented this week to the Port Community the new Internal Emergency Plan. This document has been updated to reflect the new port facilities, as the South Basin, the result of the recent enlargement.
Last years PortCastelló has invested heavily in infrastructure and it has continued its expansion, culminating with the latest generation of port, situated in the South Basin, which has gained from the sea more than 2 million square metres.
A cruise belonging to the Windstar Cruises company has docked at the Port of Castellón during the sunny morning of Sunday 14 November. The ship, of 134 meters of length and with a passage of about 150 people, all bike lovers and the vast majority American, moved in tandem from Castelón to Valencia, where they again embark at the port of Valencia.
The Port of Castellón has closed a first round of meetings to hear the voice of the members of the port community through its various committees and sub-committees of Quality, as set out its Business Plan. The general manager of PortCastelló, Roberto Arzo, pleased with the progress of various working meetings, said it will be carried out the analysis of all the suggestions and issues raised.
The Port of Castellón has a new Board of Directors since today. As prescribed in the new Ports Law, the Board of Directors of the Port Authority of Castellón, traditionally formed by a maximum of 25 members will have, from now on, a total of 15 members plus the PortCastelló manager and the secretary, both with voice but without vote.
