The Port of Castellon received Quest for Adventure, a ship of Saga Cruises cruise company, with near 600 British and Australian passengers aboard. The Port of Castellon grew 9 percent in the first two months of 2013. Thus, the port area improved its positive traffic record in January, when it added a 6.8 percent more of goods, and achieved an increase of 11.2 percent in February from the same period last year.

The Port of Castellon adds another cruise scale scheduled for the next April. Saga Cruises is a British company that bet again on Castellon after docked for the first time with Saga Pearl II ship in 2011. The April 3 is going to stop Quest for Adventure ship, with 160 meters length and up to 450 passengers who will arrive from Cartagena and will depart to Ibiza.

The Port of Castellon is situated in traffic container ranking after Valencia (first), Barcelona, Bilbao, Vigo and Algeciras Bay and ahead of Las Palmas, Tarragona, Bay of Cadiz and Cartagena. 154,812 TEUs were moved in 2012, a 23.93 percent over the previous year. It is also, in total container volume, in tenth position followed by Valencia (first), Algeciras, Barcelona, Las Palmas, Bilbao, Malaga, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Vigo and Tarragona.

PortCastelló sets record of containers with 160,934 TEUs and an increase of 22.8% in 2012
That percentage increase is translated into about 30,000 containers in 2012 over the previous year. Goods traffic on the docks (Zone 1) increased by 7.85 percent, adding more than 6 million tons. However, the total traffic in 2012 was 12,949,821 tonnes in front of 13,117,726 of previous year, which has resulted in a fall of 1.2 percent, influenced partly by the technical stop of BP Oil company.

Tile export, which is the third most important traffic, increased 30 percent in 2012 over the previous year, from 1,000,000 to 1,360,000 tons. PortCastelló receives the biggest ship in its history
The Port of Castellón received the biggest ship put in at its basins in 110 years history. It was the Mozart container ship from MSC (Mediterranean Shipping Company, S.A.) which is 282 meters length and 40 wide. The merchant ship docked at Terminal Polivalente de Castellón at 8 am and left in the afternoon. The charge was loaded with 205 containers, mainly tiles.

PortCastelló has just received the maiden visit of the ship Genmar of the turkish company Batinak Shipping. This ship was built in 2011 and is able to hold 35,000 tons. PortCastelló ranks 6th in Spain in terms of container traffic
PortCastelló ended 2011 as the 6th Spanish port in container traffic, with 124.920 TEUs, following Vigo with 172.803, according to Puertos del Estado, as a result of a 26% increase this activity. Along with this, it was the first port in terms of bulk cargo at the Valencian Comunity, with 3.244.831 tons against 2.374.045 at Valencia and 724.112 at Alicante.

The Windstar cruise will put in at PortCastelló on Sunday with 200 bike lovers
The sailing ship Windspirit operated by the company Windstar American is expected to arrive at the port area of Grao at 6.30 am carrying about 200 pasengers and crew. The Port of Castellón already is more in number than 20,000 TEUs in the first seven months of the year compared to same period in 2010. Between January and July PortCastelló moved 75,000 containers compared to just over 54,000 in the same period last year. These figures represent an increase of 37.5 per cent in container traffic and predicts a very important figure in the total balance of the year.

The Port of Castellón has grown 17.3 percent in the first half of the year, according to data from the Department of Statistics of the Port Authority of Castellón. It has also been achieved in June its second best year in terms of percentage increase and volume of goods. The increase has been 16.8 percent and in all months, except March, has surpassed one million tons. So far this year, the Port of Castellón also accumulates a million tonnes more than in 2010 of a total of more thant 6,600,000.

96% of citizens satisfied with PortCastelló
Visitors to the port area were invited to complete the opinion poll, which consisted in a dozen simple questions, mostly closed questions that should be answered with yes or no. The content of the questions concerned the organization of the Open Day, CSR, economic development, environment and port-city relation. Port staff and hostesses sought a survey that was answered by family or group of people who visited the port. The results of the opinion poll revealed, therefore, a satisfaction rate of 96%, a percentage that has been very much appreciated from PortCastelló.

The railway will be one of the great protagonists of the II Open Day of Port of Castellón, which will take place as part of intermodality on Saturday, 18th of June. PortCastelló lives its II Open Day
“There is a new port to see”. This is indicated by the chairman of the Port Authority of Castellón, Juan José Monzonís, to justify the celebration of the II Open Day of the Port of Castellón, it will be celebrated next Saturday, 18th of June. “After the growth of the north and south and the inauguration of the east dam last month of March, there is a new port to see. PortCastelló enhances their security defenses with new quays
The Port of Castellón has enhanced its security by installing new safeguards on its docks. It has been installed in the Inner Harbour 7 new defenses cylindrical length of 2 meters by 1.2 meters in diameter, similar to the Ceramics Spring. It has been disassembled 9 damaged defenses, of which the 5 that maintained good conditions have been repositioned. Finally, the defense number 5 has been placed in the External Cross Dock. In this way, they are in perfect condition especially for the citrus campaign. The defenses favor the docking of ships in port eliminating the danger when approaching to the docks.

The Dam East closes the trilogy of PortCastelló great works in the past decade
The Port of Castellón opens next Thursday, 3th of March of 2011, the extension of the Dam East and the dredging of the entrance channel of the Port of Castellón, a work that completes the trilogy of infrastructure investments executed in the next decade Centennial Dock and South Dock and it has involved creating the new port. A Windstar cruise with 150 bike lovers berths in PortCastelló
A cruise belonging to the Windstar Cruises company has docked at the Port of Castellón during the sunny morning of Sunday 14 November. The ship, of 134 meters of length and with a passage of about 150 people, all bike lovers and the vast majority American, moved in tandem from Castelón to Valencia, where they again embark at the port of Valencia.
