One of the principal objectives of the Port Authority of Castellón is to establish a reputation firstly, for offering both external and internal services that are first class in quality and efficiency, for its care and respect for the environment and the social context in which its activities are carried out. To this end, PortCastelló has established a Quality Control System, being certified according to ISO 9001/2008 in its two key processes: Scale Ship Process and Management of the Public Domain which rigorously develops and audits according to the following principles:

  • The complete satisfaction of our clients has maximum priority.
  • The continuous improvement in all our operations and services, setting clear objectives which are regularly revised, in order to guarantee the success of the Quality Control System.
  • A continuous search for the best technical means available which will help us to carry out all operations in the most efficient and least contaminating way possible, with the aim of keeping to an absolute minimum possible negative effects on the natural and social environment.
  • Fulfil the voluntary commitments that have been taken on, going beyond the requirements demanded by laws and regulations.
  • Promote respect for the environment through communication, training, openness and the adoption of processes which help to minimise any negative impact on the environment, as well as actions undertaken together with the port community towards sustainable development. The Port of Castellón is committed to publishing information regularly about its environmental programme in order to keep everyone informed.
  • To involve all the employees of PortCastelló, with the support of the Management, in achieving the established objectives.

It should be noted that on March the 30th 2012, after the visit of the assessors of the certifying company Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance Ltd and the Club en Excelencia y Gestión, Port Authority of Castellón has renewed the Seal of Excellence EFQM 500+, obtained for the first time in December 2009, which is the highest recognition of excellence that can be received in Europe.

After a long process of continuous improvement, the excellence in the management model of the Port Authority has been recognized. This is based on the guidance to increase both the satisfaction of customers and employees and the quality and quantity of port services.

However, this recognition is not a goal for the organization, but part of a work style committed to innovation, change, improvement, and the desire to fulfill our tasks in the best possible way.
