BULK SOLID CARGOS

- Clinker milling plants and the production of cement:

The company Élite Cements, S.L. Has at its disposal a site measuring 30,000 m2 in the South Basin which is used for milling clinker and the production of Portland Cement. The facilities currently in use are as follows;

  • Silo for the storage of clinker with a capacity of 50,000 t., 33 metres in diameter and 50 metres in height.
  • Building with a metallic construction measuring 12x12 metres and 27,6 metres in height, containing feeder hoppers.
  • Building with a metallic construction measuring 24x14 metres and 32 metres in height, for the milling of cement.
  • Four cement silos with a capacity of 5,000 t. each with a diameter of 14 metres and a height of 42 metres
  • Building with a metallic construction measuring 50x50 metres and 20 metres in height, for filling sacks with cement.

The company Cemex España, S.A. has at its disposal a rectangular site measuring 40,250 m2 in the South Basin which is used for the milling of clinker and the production of Portland cement. The facilities on this site are as follows:

  • Warehouse (60x34 metres) for the storage of plaster and additives with a capacity of 6,000 t.
  • Silo with a capacity of 40,000 t. for the storage of clinker.
  • Building with metallic structure with feeder hoppers.
  • Building with a metallic structure for the milling of cement.
  • Four silos measuring 12 metres in diameter and 34m. in height for cement with a capacity of 6,000 tons.
  • Building with a metallic structure for filling sacks with cement.
  • Building for various purposes, including offices, changing rooms, laboratories, toilets and a store for spare products.

 

BULK LIQUID CARGOS

In the area corresponding to the dock equipped to receive bulk liquid carriers, are situated special facilities for the reception of sulphuric acid and phosphorous, equipped with a movable pipe for unloading and two pipelines which lead to storage tanks. These facilities are the property of the company Levantino Aragonesa de Tránsitos, S.A.

The company B.P. Oil España, S.A. has at its disposal the following terminals:

a) Buoy field:

A submarine oil pipeline 42” in diameter for unloading crude from the buoy field to the refinery. The length of this pipeline to the coast is around 4,000 metres.

b) Berthing Island:

For loading operations the platform is equipped with self balancing,movable pipes. The number and size of these movable pipes on each side of the island is as follows:

  • 1 10” movable pipe for dark products and ballast.
  • 1 8” movable pipe for ammonia.
  • On the platform the following products may be loaded or unloaded.
  • Dark products: fuel oil or crude.
  • Clear products: Leaded petrol 97, unleaded petrol 97 unleaded petrol 98, diesel fuel, kerosene, gasoline and cyclohexane.
  • Ammonia.
  • Reception of dirty ballast.

The company Compañía Logística de Hidrocarburos (C.L.H.) has at its disposal on the on the containing wall of the South Basin facilities with movable pipes and a liquids transport system consisting of two 14” pipelines for unloading products (petrol and diesel fuel) which connects the storage plant with the Port Installations.

- Bio-diesel Production Plant:

The company Infinita Renovables, S.A. has at its disposal a site measuring 65,000 m2 on the South Basin of the Port of Castellón on which a plant for the production of bio-diesel from vegetable oils has been constructed. It has a production capacity of 300,000 T. a year and it is expected that this capacity will double in the future. It has a private berthing space which has pipeline connections to the BP Oil refinery.

PIPELINE CONNECTIONS

B.P. Oil España, S.A. has a 42” pipeline from the Buoy Area to the refinery 4,400 in length for unloading crude oil. It also has a 10” pipeline for supplying fuel for ships moored in this area. From their installations on the Platform Island the petrochemical complex runs two 10” pipelines for products such as gasoline, kerosene, etc, 2 pipelines of 14” for heavier products such as diesel fuels, another for discharging ballast and one of 10” for unloading liquids.

The Port Authority has two pipelines from the Liquids Quay (Muelle de Fluidos) connected to storage tanks for the discharge of sulphuric acid and phosphorus.
