Port Community Port Control
The Integrated Centre for the Coordination of Services (CICS), directed by Mr. Javier Garcia, was the result of an agreement between the Port Authority of Castellón and the State Organisation of Maritime Safety (SASEMAR), co-signed by the General Management of the Merchant Marine.
The CICS is situated on the Exterior Transverse Quay (Muelle Transversal Exterior) and its principal purpose is to take care of the needs for maritime control and safety in the Port of Castellón.
Fourteen controllers and the manager of the control centre are employed in the CICS, so that it is kept in operation 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
In order to carry out its work, the CICS is provided with the most modern electronic equipment, as well as air-sea transport for emergency management.
